See the Lord God comes with strength, and his power establishes his rule. His wages are with him, and his reward accompanies him. He protects his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them in the fold of his garment. He gently leads those that are nursing… He never becomes faint or weary; there is no limit to his understanding. He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless. (CSV)

Another version says,

He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart.  He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young…He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

He tends his flock like a shepherd:

He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.

Isaiah 40: 10-11, 29

This message is to all the mamas and daddies out there who are loving but struggling. Trying to get it right. Wanting to lead well, but weary.

Did you hear that? Did you see that? Your King is coming in power. He is bringing his reward with him. So it’s ok if you’re weary and feeling a bit needy. 

You are not alone. We are not alone. He understands. And although he never becomes faint or weary, he gives strength to those who are faint. Those who wait and trust in him.

Here’s the thing, this word is not only to those who have children… You may be nursing a dream right now, a vision from the Father’s heart that seems new and delicate and you are trying your best to care for it well. You have a business that you want to start and it seems hard to get it going…

Do not fear. Do not despair.

He is the good shepherd. Lean into the all sufficient One. Rest your weary head on him. Give your heavy heart to him and he will give you rest. His yoke is easy and his burden is light… 

So breathe in the grace and hope of Jesus, your good shepherd and breathe out the stress and strain of striving. 

We are not wandering alone friends, we have a good shepherd is leading all we have to to do is follow…
